Pedrosa di Posisi Depan GP Australia

Pembalap Italia, Dani Pedrosa, mengungguli favorit setempat Casey Stoner untuk merebut posisi terdepan untuk Moto GP Australia di Phillip Island Sabtu. Pedrosa membukukan waktu lap tercepat 1 menit 29.201 detik diatas Honda untuk merebut posisi terdepan, lebih cepat 0.218 dari juara dunia lima kali, Valentino Rossi, yang memacu Yamaha. Juara baru dunia Stoner akan bergabung dengan pasangan Italia di baris terdepan pada Minggu setelah finis ketiga tercepat dengan Ducati, 0.615 detik dibelakang Pedrosa. Ia sempat memimpin kualifikasi Sabtu pagi sebelum Pedrosa membukukan waktu lap tercepat pada sesi terakhir. Waktu Pedrosa dua persepuluh detik lebih lambat dari rekor lap tahun lalu yang dibukukan permbalap Amerika Serikat (AS), Nicky Hayden. Hayden,yang merebut gelar juara dunia pada 2006, akan start dari posisi keempat menggunakan Jonda.
